LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES?
Welcome to the St. Patrick’s Day School Family, where we are dedicated to nurturing your chldren academically, physically, spiritually, and morally within a caring environment. Because we know you are busy, we have compiled a list of volunteer opportunities to help you identify those that might have the greatest interest for you. You will find that volunteering gives you a chance to meet other parents, to demonstrate the importance of community to your children, and to have a lot of fun by helping our school.
This fall:
Classroom Representatives – Each grade level has one or two classroom representatives that help teachers with a variety of tasks such as organizing holiday parties, coordinating grade level events and activities, and chaperoning on field trips. At Back-to-School Night on September 13th your child’s teacher will describe what is involved in this role.
Uniform Sales – Parents donate gently used uniforms, and the Parent Association sells them throughout the year. Parent volunteers organize and sort the collection and work the cash register on the days of the event. The first uniform sale of the year will take place on August 17th.
Moms & Muffins and Dads & Donuts – Several times a year, we invite students and their moms or dads to meet other parents over coffee and muffins or donuts. Parent volunteers buy the coffee and the baked goods and serve during this morning event. This is a great opportunity to socialize with other parents and meet your child’s friends. There will be a Welcome Coffee for parents on the labyrinth courtyard on August 17th at 8:15. We hope you can join us.
Parent Prepared Lunch – Throughout the year different grade levels sponsor a lunch for the entire school, usually based on a theme such as Halloween, Valentine’s Day, or Spring. Parent volunteers decorate and prepare and serve lunch.
Family Fun Night – Families are invited to campus for an activity such as a movie, dance, bingo party, or laser light show. Parent volunteers help organize, distribute snacks, and coordinate the activities of the evening.
Christmas Ornaments – Each year parents have an opportunity to order Christmas ornaments with their child’s picture inside. Volunteers are needed to help assemble ornaments. This is a great fundraiser during the holiday season.
