Why Choose St. Patrick’s

St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School strives to bring a great educational experience to students in grades K-6.

St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School offers a high quality educational experience in a nurturing environment.

An exceptional faculty

Our teachers are selected carefully on the basis of academic qualifications, experience, and the personal qualities each can bring to the school.  They are passionate about developing the intellectual, creative, and personal potential in every student.  All homeroom teachers are credentialed.

A strong academic program

Reading, writing, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies form the core curriculum.  Multiple teaching strategies and interesting supplementary materials support thoughtfully planned lessons and hands-on learning opportunities.  At St. Patrick’s students learn the necessary skills to become strong, independent learners who are well prepared for their secondary school experiences.

A full complement of outstanding enrichment classes

Specialist teachers conduct weekly classes in music, art, computer, physical education, and Spanish at all grade levels.

Thoughtful spiritual and moral development

St. Patrick’s is a Community of Kindness where young people are taught to be caring and compassionate. There is a focus on building character and on developing a sense of responsibility for others.  Part of the Episcopal tradition is learning that we all have gifts with which we are blessed, and that through habits of service, we can cultivate grateful hearts that help others.

An intimate setting

Classes are kept small deliberately.  Each class, kindergarten through fourth grade, has an instructional assistant who works with the homeroom teacher.  The small class size and the low teacher student ratio allow for substantial personal attention.

A  K-6 School

St. Patrick’s School is a place where children can be and remain young without feeling the pressures of acting older or being around more mature students.  The needs of our elementary students remain primary.  Our oldest students, the sixth graders, are the leaders of student government, school presentations, and of “family groups.”  Fifth and sixth graders act as buddies to the youngest students on campus, providing friendship and mentoring to the kindergarten and first grade students.

Pleasant surroundings

The St. Patrick’s School sits atop a hill overlooking a beautiful view of the Conejo Valley. It is comprised of two buildings for instruction, two lunch decks, two large play areas for recess and physical education, a grassy field, a science lab, music room, art facility, and computer lab.  In addition, the parish hall and chapel offer spaces for larger gatherings, assemblies, and chapel services.

An Accredited Institution

Maintaining high standards and a quality educational experience are important at St. Patrick’s. Along with the finest schools in California, we are accredited by the California Association of Independent Schools.  In addition, we are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Los Angeles Episcopal Diocesan Commission on Schools.
