St. Patrick's Campaign

for a New Canterbury Hall

Ways to Give

Thank you for considering a gift to the St. Patrick’s Canterbury Hall Campaign. Your gift can take any number of forms depending upon your personal preference and financial circumstances. Often a gift is made in a combination of ways and many families have made pledges of three years or more.

Cash Gifts

Such contributions are of great importance in that the funds donated become available immediately to finance the project.

Gifts Over Time

Making a pledge to be paid over a period of several years may enable a donor to contribute a significantly larger amount than otherwise possible. For example, a donor may choose to pledge a gift of $30,000, to be paid in $10,000 installments on December 1 for the ensuing three years. Every donor is recognized for the total pledge amount, not the pledge payment amounts.

Marketable Securities

If your portfolio contains appreciated securities owned more than one year, consider a gift to St. Patrick’s of securities instead of cash. In most cases, the advantages are:

  • You will avoid capital gains;
  • You will receive a charitable deduction for your gift;
  • The value of that deduction will be the market value of the securities, not the cost basis.

Matching Gifts

Does your company or firm have a matching gift program? If so, you may be able to double, and sometimes even triple, your charitable gift. Please contact your company’s human resources office for a matching gift form.

Services & Volunteering

The school can always use your talent and your willingness to offer your time and energy on this project.
